How is it going everyone?  Wanted to drop you a quick spiritual thought that I learned from studying the Book of Mormon.

D&C 68:25

25 And again, inasmuch as parents have children in Zion, or in any of her stakes which are organized, that teach them not to understand the doctrine of repentance, faith in Christ the Son of the living God, and of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of the hands, when eight years old, the sin be upon the heads of the parents.

Think about that and then read this...

Alma 42:17

17 Now, how could a man repent except he should sin?  How could he sin if there was no law?  How could there be a law save there was a punishment?

Last one...

2 Nephi 2:11

11 For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things.  If not so, my firstborn in the wilderness, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad.  Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, it it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility.

Read and study these and think of this...

If we do not teach our stewardship the law they can never sin.  If they can never sin, they can never know joy. If they can never know joy, they will live forever in innocence, without joy or sadness.

So teach your stewardship the law with diligence not just so that the sin falls not upon your head (because were there is no law there is no sin, and who's fault is that if there is no law?) but also so that they can have JOY...

I love you all, make it a great week!!

(and here are a couple of photos to make you happy)

This sweet family was baptized last Saturday.  (September 28, 2019)  This family has truly impacted Tyler.  He told me that this is the first family he will look up when he returns to Mexico City to visit.  He loves them so very much, and so do we.

Tyler has made lifelong friends.

Tyler hits up every taco stand he can find.  He LOVES the food in Mexico City!

Hey everyone!  I thought I would give you all a quick hello...it has been awhile, so I am back!!

I could tell you all about my experiences but I would rather drop you all a quick thought.

In a talk given by Elder Ballard he says that when we teach doctrine to people who have never heard of the church, we are not planting something new, everyone has the Light of Christ and therefore has the capability to know all truth, but "light cleaveth unto light" (D&C 88:40) And these people are kept from the truth because they know not where to find it.  These people will recognize these truths as you teach them because they are familiar.  They have the capability to know them.  But they need help recognizing that.  They have the "capability" to understand all truth.  But they must be guided.

My invitation to you all is to share the doctrine with others so that by the Light of Christ, they can "RECOGNIZE" these gospel truths.

Go out and get it done!!!

Love,
Elder Traveller

Tyler has been transferred to an area near the Mexico City Temple.  Within his ward boundaries there are over 1000 members but only 130 people are active members.  Tyler has been going through each name, which has been tedious, but the area is being blessed.  He is training a new missionary who is doing well for being so new to the field!  Thank you for all of your prayers in his behalf.  It takes a village, of that I am sure.

The baptism of Enrique.  Each baptism has been so special for Tyler.

Cow eyeball.  Tyler LOVES to try new food.

Tyler's Halftime package made it...a little banged up...but it made it!

Apparently Dr. Simi is a big deal in Mexico.  Tyler's companion really wanted a picture of him with a missionary, so Tyler made it happen! (;

Cow Feet bruh

Yeah, I ate some cow feet.  I don't even know how that works but that's what they told us it was haha.

My comp loved it so much we had to buy some at Walmart...cow feed at Walmart, weird stuff.

Thought I would drop you a quick spiritual message...

Read Jacob 1:19 and then look in the guide for the scriptures of what office means.  It applies to all.  TAKE CARE OF YOUR STEWARDSHIP!!!

Also cut an investigators hair this week.  Pretty great.

Elder Traveller

Tyler is pictured below with an investigator named Juan.  He will be baptized this Saturday.  Tyler felt strongly that his companionship needed to revisit the reactivation binder, which is very thick in his area.  Because of that prompting he has been lead to amazing people this month.  He has four baptisms scheduled for the next couple of weeks.  Tyler obviously doesn't like to talk about himself very much, but he is more humble that I have ever seen him.  He knows he is the 'instrument' for the Lord's hands and that this is the Lord's work.  Thank you for all of the love and support that you continually show him.  Tyler's family highlight for the week was that he got to talk to Gentry about being a Dad on Tuesday.  Tyler LOVED hearing his voice.  He misses his family so much. - Kari

WHAT UP FAM!

Stellar week, our house flooded with water from the sewage...again.  Living the life huh?  HAHA man good times.  Check the vid I will send it is pretty funny.  Oh also the dog in the picture followed us all of the way back to our house...cute little guy.

Well, life is good.  I wanted to share a quick message with everyone and let you ponder it.

What is UNDERSTANDING?  I wanted to use the guide to the scriptures to help you with this word.

Understanding:  'To gain a knowledge of or to perceive the meaning of some truth, including its application to life'

And how do we gain KNOWLEDGE?

Knowledge:  "Understanding and comprehension, especially of truth as taught or confirmed by the Spirit"

By the spirit, therefore you can only receive knowledge by the spirit.  And you only have understanding when you have knowledge.  And if someone is not applying what they "understand", do they really understand it?  No.  So I invite you all if you are not applying a Gospel principle in your life to seek knowledge of it by the power of the Holy Ghost so that you may receive understanding and apply it to your life.

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Elder Traveller

I'M BACK!!

Hey everyone!!  It has been awhile but I sure do love you all.  Just wanted to share a short message with you today.

Grace.

Grace is a very beautiful thing provided to us by our Savior.  Many times people become burned out and leave the church all because they do not understand Grace.  I hope you all understand God is not waiting at the finish line when you finish doing your very best.  He is not waiting for your very best before he makes up the difference for us.  That is very false and untrue.  God did not pay for everything except for a few coins.  He payed for it ALL.  So we are saved by Grace.  We may ask, then why repentance?  If we weren't required to repent we would never change.  Remember the debt the Savior paid for us in the first place...why did that exist?  Because of our sins, and if we do not change we are living in our sins.  The Savior paid for all of our sins, but it is required of us to change.

No unclean thing can dwell in the presence of God, but no unchanged thing will even want to.

I invite you all to listen to the talk 'His Grace is Sufficient' by Brad Wilcox.  (BYU Speech)

Love you all!!  Remember this week about changing and becoming better than last week.  If we don't change...then why are we here?

Love,
Elder Traveller

Note:  Cooper Traveller, Tyler's cousin, is headed to the Mexico CCM next week!  Cooper will be landing in Tyler's area!  He is currently living right next to the airport!

Tyler has had many incredible experiences with the people of Mexico City!

Elder Traveller is looking more and more like Jon!

He has loved trying new food!

Tyler's friends will appreciate this picture.  (;

He FINALLY likes SOCCER!  When in Rome...

This is a fun video of Tyler!!  His fellow missionaries convinced him to throw his back flip.  He hasn't done that in 8 months.  It is fun to see that is personality is still alive and well!

We have really enjoyed the opportunity to talk to Tyler via Google Hangouts!  Because Tyler loves to spend so much time talking, he doesn't have as much time to write. (and he is much more detailed in his calls than he EVER was in his letters!!)  I promised to send out a few pictures this week to everyone and to tell you all how much Tyler loves you and appreciates you!!

He has had some very special experiences the last couple of weeks, and this Saturday he will have the opportunity to baptize women named Gloria.  He promised to send pictures.  He also told us about three other baptisms that are scheduled to happen next week.

Tyler is happy and has immersed himself into the Mexican culture.  He loves the people and his area!!

Thank you for all of your many prayers for Tyler.  He has been so blessed because of you and your examples.

Tyler has become a soccer fan!  Who knew.  Mexico has changed him in so many ways! (;

Hello from the Gringos

Haha hello everyone,

It has been a harder week but hey we are good!!  As most of you know, I have a white companion so everyone always calls us gringos haha pretty funny, we got spit on a couple of weeks ago so that was fun HAHA.

So this week I want to share with you the Doctrine of the Light of Christ.

It is something I have studied and I think it would benefit all of you to know what the Light of Christ is.  It is literally everything.

It is what lights the sun, because by the power of Christ the sun was made and therefore it is the Light of Christ.  All of us have the Light of Christ within us, this is how we have wisdom and how we gain wisdom.  With some the Light is stronger, and with others it is weak.  We can grow our Light of Christ within ourselves by studying about Jesus Christ.  The Light of Christ is in all things and we can only grow through the Light of Christ!!

Love you all!  Have an amazing week!!  Please read D&C 88:6!!!!!

Elder Traveller

Church policy was changed on February 15, 2019 and missionaries can now call home on a weekly basis.  We loved talking to Elder Traveller while he sat in an internet cafe in Mexico City!

Smiles all around!

The Mexico City East Mission was blessed to have a special conference on Valentine's Day with Elder Cook and other powerful witnesses of Jesus Christ.  Tyler said it was the most spiritual meeting that he has ever attended.

The biggest miracle that happened in Tyler's life this week was the sealing of his Uncle and Aunt, Jessie and Faith Mayorga.  Jessie said this about Tyler earlier this year, "When we attended Tyler's farewell, I was just really happy and impressed by what a good young man he is.  I see in him so many qualities that I wish I had at his age and still don't have being much older.  I approached Tyler after his talk and told him this and that I was proud of him.  He made me think, "Why can't I still achieve these qualities?"  It reminded me of one of the biggest reasons why I decided to get baptized in the first place.  That I can still change and be forgiven.  I want to be able to let go of regret and guilt.  I'm really grateful for Ty, he unknowingly helped me in such a big way."
Tyler was there in spirit on Februray 15, 2019 in the Billings, Montana Temple with this beautiful family whom he loves dearly.

I AM BACK

Honestly, hard week with our investigators, but I hope you guys had an amazing week!!

Today I want to focus on talking to you about Covenants.

I hear from people, oh I don't need the church because my relationship is personal with God, or oh we don't need religion, we just need to be good people and follow God.

How wrong they are.  This is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  And it is impossible to return to God or to apply the Atonement of Jesus Christ in our lives or to have peace in this life without the Church of Jesus Christ.

If you are not a member of the church, you cannot receive the covenants (or promises) with God, because only the first presidency and the apostles hold the keys for covenants with God and the eternal life in the world to come.

I beg of you all to realize the importance of these covenants (or promises) we make through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  I love you all.

Make it a great week!!

Love,
Elder Traveller

In a letter sent home:

"With our investigators this week, not gonna lie it was a hard week.  We have this awesome investigator named Carlos, who we love.  He came to church for the first time last week, we didn't do as much as we should or talk to him as much as we should have, but it never occurred to us that this would happen...He came to church then left.  We went to go talk to him about his experience and he said that it was awful, he had a baptismal date set before but after going to church (I didn't understand this part in Spanish so my comp had to explain) he said he does not want to go back so he does not want to be baptized anymore.  Hard experience.  With Eliaquin we had a crazy meeting.  It was the second time we took him to talk to a member that had alcohol problems as well.  He is helping him for sure.  Eliaquin started shaking a ton and kind of crying then he like fell on the floor and I had to catch him....It was crazy.  I think he is having some serious withdrawals.  Josephina told us she was going to open her store then come to church so we went and helped her open her store then went to church and she never came. Sad.  So harder week for sure but this one will be better!!  We have an investigator named Jorge that is amazing but he does not live in our area he only works in our area so it is kind of an interesting situation.  Things are going to be great this week though!!

Tyler's most favorite drink...EVER!

Happy Valentine's Day Tyler!!

ANOTHER ONE!!

Hello everyone, hope all is well back in the States.

Things are going good here.  We are teaching an investigator named Eliaquin, he is awesome but has a really really bad drinking problem but also a strong desire, please pray for him.

I invite all of you to study this week about the Characteristics of God.  If we do not know who God is, how can we exercise faith in Him unto salvation? This has been a struggle for me.  I didn't know who God was or what His characteristics were, therefore I could not have the faith in Him necessary for peace.  For sure I still have times when peace is hard to find, but when I remember the Characteristics of God, I can find it.

How can we expect to have faith in God without understanding the doctrines, or Characteristics of God?

This is my invitation to you this week!!  Make it a great one!!  And pray for Eliaquin and another investigator named Josephina please!! As well as a man named Mario, they are all awesome, keep them in your prayers please.

Make it a great week!!

Love,
Elder Traveller

Thoughts on Grace!!  Grace has always been the sweetest soul, looking out for everyone and doing her best to make everyone happy.  She is definitely a light in the world and most definitely in high school.  I could tell she was always different from all of the other kids in high school, including myself.  She was always looking to be kind, not to be rude.  Always looking to be a friend, not hurt a friend.  Always looking to be kind to the person sitting alone, not worrying about 'ruining her reputation". She has always been a light and always will be!!  Gracer is one of a kind for sure.  Love you Grace!!  Have an amazing birthday!! - Elder Traveller

Happy Birthday Grace!
Tyler sent Grace her own birthday video from his apartment about all of his favorite memories with her.  His favorite thing was riding in the mustang with her everyday when driving to school and when they were best buddies as little kids, 'doing everything together'.
She said it was the best present ever.
