What's up everybody?!?!?!

This week has been long but good.  Spanish is destroying me but I know if I am persistent, I can learn it......eventually! MTC is same old, same old.  Days feel like weeks and weeks feel like days.  I really want to just be out in the field because I don't feel like I am helping anyone here!! I know that in order to help people I need to be here!!

I had a pretty awesome experience this week watching the Character of Christ by Elder Bednar.  In it he talks about how not once while Christ was on the earth did he think of himself...he was ALWAYS serving.  This was the main point of Elder Bednar's talk and as he went on I realized how focused on myself I have been while being here at the MTC, and I am gonna be honest...I have not been happy or joyful most of the time while being here.  But I came to realize that was why! So as I began serving my companion and looking outside of myself, I became much, much happier.

Sure at times I still fall back into thinking about myself and being self centered, and at those times I am the most sad and down on myself.  When we look outside of ourselves and look for ways to pick each other up we become less sad about own trials and our lives become much more fulfilling!! I would like to encourage each of you to watch Character of Christ by Elder Bednar and to try and find ways to look outside of yourself this week.  Do kind things for each other.  NOT because YOU want the blessing or because you think it will help YOU, but because you have a sincere desire to help OTHERS and to love THEM.  Also, do not judge each other.  We all have our own personal trials that are different from others, so don't judge...you just don't have to!  Leave that to the Savior.  Just Love!!

I love you all and I hope all is well.

Also shout out to my boy Dylan for taking state!! Waitta represent!!

Wow, this has been a lot to take in but my love for the MTC is continually growing each and everyday.  Man it was so hard to leave my family in that parking garage but I know these next two years are not for me, they are for the people of la cuidad de Mexico!

I don't have a ton of time today so I will just give you a quick overview of the MTC.  The views from the classrooms are incredible.  (We can see Lavell Edwards and Provo Temple)  The food is the most average food you can possibly think of.  Being with the same dude all day everyday is a little weird and something that is sure going to take some getting used to buy my love for mi companiero is growing continually!  Just like my love for the MTC!!

I'll leave you with a short gospel message.  As soon as we got here we were shown a video of a young man who had never played the piano in his whole life trying to play the piano, he was terrible.  But another young man who was incredibly experienced and very good joined him in a duet, and all of a sudden the song sounded amazing.  This is exactly what the Atonement and Savior Jesus Christ do for us, however terrible we may be in life at doing what is right.  If we are trying our hardest, that is what counts.  On our own our lives are ugly and lonely but through The Savior and His Atonement, our lives are made absolutely beautiful much like this song.

I testify that this is where I am supposed to be!  (although I have thought about making a run for the gate a couple of times haha).  I have realized this is not for me, it is time to be selfless!!

I love you all and I hope all is well!
